The Show Image checkbox toggles the selected diagram node between their image and geometric frame display. On a given diagram, you can mix the use of images and geometric frames.
If a given node is toggled to use its image display and the image attribute has not been set for that entity, the image associated with the entity class is automatically used. This provides a strong default representation without any special preparation on your part the first time you toggle nodes to their image representation.
Selective use of images can significantly enrich the representation value of your model. There are many useful cases for doing this, most notably displaying team or project logos as well as graphical backgrounds. That said, dont overdo a good thing. Emphasize images for level 0 / level 1 and critical stakeholder communications.
